FOOD IS NOT JUST EATING
FARM-TO-TABLE RESTAURANT LAVKALAVKA
is a new Russian cuisine
Farm-to-table restaurant LavkaLavka is a new Russian cuisine restaurant. We are not trying to recreate 18th century cuisine, but instead to keep these traditions and respectfully follow them it in our daily work. Our timeline ignores 20th century trends of gastronomic degradation in Russia. We cook and work like nothing happened, as if cuisine just naturally developed into present.SEE MENU

Lavkalavka is a perfect restaurant for a wonderful night out with friends, or for a family dinner. The menu is broad and has interesting and unique specialities such as meat tartar and deer heart. There is also an option of menu in English, which is a good bonus for foreign visitors. All products are very fresh and the meals present a wonderful bouquet of flavors and sensations. Each guest has a chance to understand that what he is eating is not only delicious with an original recipe, but that each meal presents an opportunity to reconnect with the great tradition of Russian cuisine.
Now Lavkalavka is the center of the locavore community serving as a seasonal food distribution service for restaurants and offering a robust program of food-related events for the public including talks, tours of farms and monthly farmer show-and-tells for kids. And the cafe is a foodie paradise serving up inventive twists on Russian standards, such as borsch with brisket, and a menu that lists the name of the farmer who supplied the ingredients.
Instantly cosy and homey, the staff welcoming and friendly. (speaking both english and russian) they recommended some drinks for us. the kvass (horseradish) was really delicious.... i also had the cheese platter, ravioli's with king crab and the bird-cherry cake. everything was delicious and fresh. if i was staying longer, i'd go back every other day to try things on their menu!
